What are Primer's school hours and daily schedule?
A Balanced School Day Designed for Learning, Growth, and Connection
School Hours and Daily Schedule
Primer is a full-time, in-person school where students spend their days learning, collaborating, creating, and growing together. Each school day is intentionally designed to provide a balance of academic instruction, hands-on learning, movement, and opportunities to build community.
Students attend school Monday through Friday.
School Hours
- School Day: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Arrival: Students may arrive beginning at 8:15 a.m.
- Dismissal: Student pick-up begins at 3:00 p.m.
Each campus has established arrival and dismissal procedures to help students begin and end their day safely. Families will receive campus-specific information before the start of the school year.
Beforecare and Aftercare
Some Primer campuses offer extended care for families who need additional flexibility before or after the school day.
- Beforecare: Available beginning at 7:30 a.m. at select campuses
- Aftercare: Available from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at select campuses
Availability varies by campus. Your Admissions representative or Campus Leader can let you know what options are available at your location.
What the School Day Looks Like
While the daily schedule varies by grade level, every student experiences a balance of personalized academic learning, small-group instruction, independent practice, hands-on projects, movement, lunch, recess, and time to build community with classmates and educators.
Each part of the day is designed with purpose. Students have opportunities to strengthen core academic skills, apply what they are learning through collaborative projects, stay active through outdoor play and movement, and reflect on their progress. This balanced approach supports both academic growth and student well-being while helping students develop the confidence and independence they need to thrive.
